On June 8th, 2005, Coach Bill Bofinger was inducted into the Louisiana Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, in a ceremony held at the Landmark Hotel in Metairie, Louisiana. Coach Bofinger was jointly inducted with Coach Sam Sara of Adams Middle School and Grace King. Both coaches joined the elite company of Brother Melchior Polowy and Coach Sam Harnsongkram in the Hall of Fame. Among the speakers honoring coach Bofinger were numerous former Lee High wrestlers, Coach Harnsongkram, USAWrestling Louisiana Chairman Jim Ravannack, and John Smith, the coach of the 2005 NCAA wrestling national champion Oklahoma State Cowboys.
