HOLY CROSS PLACES IN LAS VEGAS: No sooner than they
finished class last week, the Tigers were off to the state of Nevada for the Las
Vegas Holiday Classic. With an even larger field this year, Holy Cross once
again recorded a top 20 finish.
Led by a third-place finish by Porter Dazet in the 182-pound class, the
Tigers were 17th among the field of 84 teams. Danile Relayson was fifth in the
195-pound class while Michael Yeatman came in eighth in the 220-pound class.
“Bodies are sore, but the experience they received wrestling on that large
of a stage was priceless,” Holy Cross coach Eric Desormeaux said. “We can’t wait
to get back to local completion.”
That will happen on January 4 when the Tigers travel to Lafayette for a
tri-meet, hosted by 2012 Division II state champion Teurlings Catholic.
REFEREES NEEDED: The Greater New Orleans Wrestling Officials
