QUARTET HONORED AS TOP NATIONAL
STUDENT-ATHLETES
David Englehardt of St. Paul's,
along with three prominent wrestlers from Catholic High in Baton Rouge have
been named to the National High School Coaches Association Academic
All-American Wrestling Team.
An individual state champion for the
Wolves in 2012, Englehardt placed second in the 138-pound weight class in
2013. He posted a career record of 118-45 for St. Paul's coach Craig
Ketelsen. Englehardt has a 4.5 GPA with an ACT score of 33. He ranks No. 2
in his senior class out of 175 students. St. Paul's finished fourth in the
Division I state meet on February 16 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner.
Brandon Luckett, Phillip Nauta and
Sidney Rodriguez of Catholic received the same honor.
Luckett won individual state
championships in both 2012 (152 pounds) and 2013 (160 pounds) on the mat for
Tommy Prochaska. Luckett has a career record of 147-23 and sports a 3.9 GPA.
Nauta placed third in the 120-pound
weight class in 2013 for Catholic. He has a 3.6 GPA and an ACT score of 28.
Nauta plans to attend LSU to continue his education.
Rodriguez won an individual state
championship for the Bears in 2013 at 145 pounds. He has a 3.8 GPA and will
also attend LSU. The trio of Bears led Catholic to a third-place finish in
the Division I state meet.

competes in the sport of wrestling at St. Paul’s School for Coach Craig
Ketelsen. He currently has a 4.5 GPA and is ranked #2 in his class of 175.
He has an ACT score of 33. David won his state championship in 2012 and
placed 2nd in 2013. He has a career record of 118-45.
Brandon Luckett (Louisiana)
competes in the sport of wrestling at Catholic High School for Coach Tommy
Prochaska. He currently has a 3.9 GPA. Brandon placed 3rd in his state
championships in 2011 and was a state champion in both 2012 and 2013. He has
a career record of 147-23.
Phillip Nauta (Louisiana)
competes in the sport of wrestling at Catholic High School for Coach Tommy
Prochaska. He currently has a 3.6 GPA and a 28 ACT score. Phillip placed 3rd
in his 2013 state wrestling championships and has a career record of 68-28.
He plans to attend Louisiana State University.
Sidney Rodriguez (Louisiana)
competes in the sport of wrestling at Catholic High School for Coach Tommy
Prochaska. He currently has a 3.8 GPA. Sidney is a three-time state place
winner, finishing 3rd in 2011, 3rd in 2012 and 1st in 2013. He will attend
Louisiana State University to further his education.
