Cody Hill, James Claitor Trevor Schermer
DIVISION I
JAMES CLAITOR
Catholic High/Senior
Claitor won Division I state and City titles while compiling a 35-3 record in the 145-pound weight class. Claitor finishes with a career mark of 116-12 that includes two City and two Division I titles.

DIVISION II
CODY HILL
Live Oak/Senior
Hill ends a record-setting career with a 76-4 mark, setting a BR single-season record for wins and a career mark of 243-26, which is a state record for wins. The 126-pound competitor won his third Division II state and City titles.
DIVISION III
TREVOR SCHERMER
Brusly/Senior
Schermer posted a 54-3 record while competing in several weight classes and made the Metro team at 152 pounds. He claimed his fourth Division III state title and his third City title while tallying a career record of 180-29.

 

FIRST TEAM

ALEX BETTERIDGE/East Ascension, Senior
Compiled a 33-6 record in the 106-pound weight class, won a City title and was sixth in Division I.

KENDON LEE
/Brusly, Freshman
Had a 50-1 record along with first-place finishes at City and Division III state tourneys at 113 pounds.

JOSH MATTHEWS
/Catholic, Junior
Finished with a 34-15 mark at 120 pounds, was a City champion and had a sixth-place finish in Division I.

NOAH LANDRY
/Brusly, Senior
Was a first-place finisher at Division III state and the City tourneys, compiling a 52-8 record at 132 pounds.

BRENNAN TAYLOR
/Catholic, Senior
Put together a 49-3 record at 138 pounds, including first place at City tourney and second place in Division I.

KOBY MANCUSO
/Brusly, Junior
Tallied a 40-8 record at 160 pounds, claiming City tourney and Division III state tourney titles along the way.

MATTHEW MOREAU
/Catholic, Senior
Won a second City title and was fifth at the Division I tourney en route to a 27-6 overall record at 170 pounds.

BRODY BONURA
/Live Oak, Junior
Finished 68-13 at 182 pounds, notching a first-place City finish and claiming second place in Division II.

SEAN McMANUS
/Zachary, Senior
Led the Broncos by compiling a 26-12 record at 195 pounds, including a second-place finish at the City tourney.

DONALD JOHNSON
/Brusly, Junior
Finished with a 38-11 mark at 220 pounds, winning a City title and placing third at the Division III state tourney.

CONORA KARWATH
/East Ascension, Senior
Won City and Division I state tournament titles at 285 pounds while also compiling a 62-4 overall record.

COACHES OF THE YEAR


DIVISION I
MARK MOREAU
Zachary

Moreau’s Broncos were one of the most improved teams in the area and wound up finishing fifth at the City tourney and 14th at the Division I state tournament.

DIVISION II

CHRIS COLLIER
Live Oak

Collier’s Eagles claimed their first state runner-up finish in Division II and also placed third at the City tourney. He also coached LOHS to a 26-9 record in dual meets.

DIVISION III
JIMMY BIBLE
Brusly

Bible coached the Panthers to their 10th Division III state title in the last 11 years and their second City tourney, the school’s first City win in 34 seasons.

ASSISTANT OF THE YEAR
RODNEY SUTHERLAND

Sutherland played a key role in the Panthers’ success that included City and Division III state titles.
