Ponson became the first Bulldogs wrestler ever to win an
individual title this past weekend at the Louisiana Classics
meet in Baton Rouge. Wrestling in the 287-pound class, Ponson
won the title by defeating Rummel’s Ryan Hanley on Saturday at
Exerfit. The victory should vault him near the top in seeding
for the state championship meet Feb. 20-22 at the Pontchartrain
Center in Kenner. The Bulldogs finished eighth in the Louisiana
Classics.
